Dress, check …. flowers, check … veil, … not so fast.
Actress Amy Smart decided to forgo the traditional veil when she married HTVG’s hottest star, carpenter-host Carter Oosterhouse, on the couple’s 13-acre farm in Traverse City, Mich., last September. Instead, Smart took the fascinator-type approach by pairing her ruffled chiffon Carolina Herrera gown with a stunning hairpiece made of white orchids.
The understated-yet-glamorous look was the perfect fit for Amy and Carter’s eco-friendly wedding. Along with the orchid hairpiece, their outdoor ceremony featured recycled paper products, locally grown food and flowers, and a bar made out of recycled wood. Yes, Carter built the bar.
Dare to be different, too? Boldly Unique offers 16 choices in our Bridal Collection of fascinators. Leave the veil for someone else.

The fascination over hair accessories dates back practically to the beginning of time, and weddings in particular often have been occasions to play them up. In ancient Rome and Greece, for example, women opted for sprinkles of gold powder and sparkly tiaras. Here in the United States, we have seen everything from the bold to the subdued.
In the 1920s, some opted for subtle sparkle with hairpins, whereas others went for the full up-do, with jeweled and feathered hats. In the ’60s, many brides opted for flowers and beaded headbands. These days, of course, the fascinator is the “it” item, thanks in part to royal bride Kate Middleton. Here at Boldly Unique we present you with 16 styles in the Bridal Collection, so you’re sure to match the perfect look for your perfect day.
